Playa Veracruz is close to the city, but also at the mouth of the Canal. The beach is pretty messy covered in broken glass and garbage. Low tide it stinks really bad from the shipping traffic.
We went to Veracruz beach in Panamá. It’s only about 20km from the city, but unfortunately it’s in pretty rough shape. Lots of garbage washes up & broken glass all over, amazing I didn’t slice my feet.
It looks like it may have been a party place once but most of the places are shut down now, maybe because of Covid.
I found a clean’ish spot on the beach to sit for a few hours of sun, my mind was elsewhere so it was easy to ignore the locals crappy music blasting.
You can’t get an Uber or cab back, I ended up taking a little bus for $1. The bus dropped me off in one of the rougher neighborhoods, but it was late afternoon & I got an Uber out quickly.
