Exploring Cusco: City Wonders and Hidden Treasures

Spent a week in Cusco just walking around. Yes I like puertas, the full gallery of the week is here. I loved this city, I am looking for property or house, I want to live here.

Cusco city is amazing. The heart and historic district of the ancient city is beautiful. It sits at over 11,000 feet above sea level so be prepared. Walking is always either an up or downhill climb, but beautiful at every corner.

I stayed at the the Novotel, it was really nice. I was able to walk around & walk up to Sapantiana Aqueduct & Saqsaywaman as well as hang out in Plaza Mayor de Cuzco. There are so many historic buildings and features to see.

Cusco mud brick construction, pretty cool. Centuries old technique’s still effective and in use.

Went on a day trip to see a Lagoon Huaypo riding quads then to Salineras de Maras. Then another day Hiked up to see Humantay Lagoon. Took a bus from Cusco to the base camp, the roads up were terrifying at times with a wicked drop (CU-109).
The hike was a quad burner, some areas 75% grade, the average overall was pretty high. The Lagoon was pretty amazing with some great views of the mountains.
