Askmen.com has an article entitled “Top 10: Hookup websites” breaking down the best sites to get laid. It’s pretty easy to see that the writer has never actually used these sites or is living in a very special city. Askmen’s article points out hotornot.com, Yahoo, adultmatchdoctor.com, hornymatches.com, ashleymadison.com, lavalife.com, adultfriendfinder.com, onlinebootycall.com, plentyoffish.com and craigslist.com being number 1.

I have tried (checked out) a couple of these dating sites and let me share my thoughts, clicking the image of the “hot girl” will sum it up.

The #1 pick Craigslist – There are a lot of ugly people, couples and things at work on craigslist – it’s buyer beware here. This is the shady used car lot on the corner in that bard part of town. It is possible to put a good spin on anything and some of the posts are quite funny.
Just remember, an ‘89 LeBaron is always a LeBaron, even if it was driven by John Voight.

plentyoffish.com – This site makes $10 million a year from google ads, is a 1 person company and he only works 2 hours a day. Why is this relevant, well I think its more interesting than the ads I saw. There did appear to be a few girls who were attractive, but I don’t believe the ads or pictures. I’m really not adventurous/crazy enough to take the risk.

hotornot.com – I’m my area, not.

lavalife.com – This one of the top sites and is more trustworthy but you still need to know how to use it. When browsing you can find the same person in the dating, relationship and intimate sections. Read the profile in each and you will gain more insight – like she is married, hubby is overseas with the military and she just need to get serviced – this is bad for your health. I also seem to get alot of spam, not sure what the angle is but I’ll have some email fun at least. I noticied a girl I know using it and I think I’ll ask for her side of things …

cupid.com – This is one not covered and to sum it up quickly – its a low rent lavalife.

eharmony.com – This is another one not covered and for good reason. It is strictly for those looking for love, not hooking up. It really is targeted to those who want to meet someone, get married, start a family and all that. For the sake of this I signed up – It took 5 times longer to answer the stupid questions than review the 4 matches. I am really pissed I tried this site, this is time I will never get back.

Now for some maybe interesting side information about online dating sites. These articles “Single lawn signs conquer the american landscape” and “Plentyoffish Architecture” illustrate the money and buisness models.
